Jesus cares deeply about people, especially those who are far from God. When He entered the temple, He found it being misused; people were exploited and excluded, and the very people who were supposed to help others encounter God had become a barrier to worship.

When Jesus expressed anger, His heart was revealed. After telling His disciples He was going to Jerusalem to die on a cross, Peter’s response provoked Jesus’ indignation. Calling Peter “Satan” was remarkably intense. Why did Jesus react so strongly to such a seemingly well-intentioned response? Paul’s journey reminds us that God’s promises are still trustworthy when circumstances seem to contradict them. We may not be able to control the storm, but we can trust the God who stays near and works through every part of the journey.
