The disciples praise Him as He enters the city using a Messianic Psalm.

The Christ enters Jerusalem riding a new donkey colt symbolizing humility and peace, but also symbolizing Christ bringing about new things.

Ninevah repents and Jonah laments. He is a man of God, out of step with God. Bitterness and circumstances control Jonah instead of faith, hope, love, and compassion.

God prepares Ninevah for revival by years of difficulty preceding Jonah's arrival. When we pray for revival for our country, what are we really praying for?

Jonah rises up and begins the long (impossible?) journey to Ninevah. We can also carry out the will of God in our lives one step at-a-time.

Jonah is swallowed by the fish ordained by God's sovereignty. Jonah hits rock bottom. Apparently with no hope. Then he looks to God and finds hope even in the most dire of circumstances.

Our responsibility as a church. Our responsibility as individuals, as Christians in the world today, is to praise, honor, and glorify God.

In some ways Jonah is symbolic of Christ. He's also symbolic of us. The heart is deceitfully wicked above all things. Who can even know it? We have a sin nature and we still sin. We are headed the same way as Jonah. But, because of the work of Christ, that is not how we're going to end up.

When something bad happens, when a storm rises, and you're caught in the middle of it; a financial Storm, a family storm, or a health storm. Whatever type of storm it may be. Look for an opportunity, because God will bring something good from it.

At times we have a lot in common with Jonah. Despite this God continues to work through us, and through the situations we face today. The story is the redemption of man by God. We are not the main characters of this story. Jonah is not the main character of this story. Jonah needed salvation, and so do we!
