How did they create this product? How did they think about it? and how did they make sure it would work? Plus Rob gives us his thoughts on pushing ourselves with an idea on how to move forward and gain momentum.
I’m now in Perth, having cycled from Sydney to Perth over the last few months, taking my time and enjoying the company of the welcoming people along the way. I’ll be sharing that story in the next episode of the podcast.

The Silk Road Mountain Race is a fixed route, unsupported, single-stage cycling race through the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. The clock does not stop and there are no prizes. It follows gravel, single and double track and old soviet roads that have long been forgotten and fallen into disrepair. There is very little tarmac. There is some walking, and at times there is great distances between resupply points..

When I first decided to take on this trip, cycling all the way home, I wanted to find a way to showcase the trip, to create memories and inspire other people to do the same thing.
As part of the creative side of the trip, I wanted to reach out to likeminded cyclists out there, crafting and creating stories on their journey.
Sami gave me an insight to storytelling that I hadn’t thought of, and has since inspired loads of creative ideas. It’s interesting to hear her perspective on visualising the work she does day to day.
Listen to Sami Sauri share her experiences, how she got to where she is and how she finds ways to share herself and work with the world.

A couple of kiwis with their UK visas coming to an end, decided to get home the long way.
Anneke and Tane share their story with me from the beginning. Listen to their journey that started out in a London pub when the idea first started, the venture across Europe, Asia and back to New Zealand, 20,000 kilometers later.
The funny start to the story is that Anekke and Tane gave me the inspiration to do this trip myself. After seeing their journey starting, visiting their website, I would often be found searching across their map. Now that my trip is starting in two weeks, I have both of these two to thank for helping kickstart my trip in a similar way back home.
