This live streamed gig came about a month after the one I did for 3rd W3n35day. I didn't think that folk would want to hear pretty much the same songs again, so I committed to doing a whole new set.

My initial idea was to do a Longford semi-improv pice - but I'm not quite wired for that. I would have needed more time than I had to get anything worth playing to folk together.

So I needed up writing a couple of new pieces, and grabbing some work in progress snippets and buffing them up a bit, and using a piece that I;d only played once at the Hull EMOM last year.

It still wasn't sitting quite where I wanted it, so I decided to grab two tracks of the Mirlo/jam.coop exclusive EP and see if I could do them live.

And that worked well. So - 10 tracks, 9 which had never been heard outside of Studio Gribbly. With about a week to go, I was starting to enjoy the set. Good times.

And then, a couple of days before I got struck with Man-Flu! I sound quite chirpy on the video, but I had a head full of cotton wool, tinnitus and I felt like my Brian was running in 1st gear. But the show must go on!

In the end, despite a couple of hiccups, I'm quite pleased with the session. Chalk up another tick for saying 'Yes' and setting yourself a challenge...

Just finished fixing him up. He’s built very interestingly and it’s a super simple but super effective in terms of what it does and the amount of motion you get from such little parts. He does use more gears than I expected, though!

Overall, a great toy, and even though this guy has had a plethora of issues over the years of me having him, i still think its a well designed and - dare i say - high quality toy, even all these years later. Although its had plastic issues, Ive seen a lot worse for when this was made. With just how crazy thin some parts are on this toy that HAVEN’T broken, and with how many i see still working perfectly fine, it’s amazing how good the plastic is…

was a bit late to review this… Pretty cool helicopter. Too loud though, as are most of my toys. I have a mini version ill review soon when i get the chance

Idk who made it since im no santa expert, but the base is like a jazzman and it has a split motor gear (or close to the motor) i can tell

The beautiful sounds of “bbbbbrrrrrrerrereerrrrrrrrrrr” as it’s LED eyes barely work really add to the experience 😃

No battery cover. Works perfectly otherwise. Clearly a 2 motor mech id like to see the mechanics of sometime
