Welcome to Day 22 of the 2025 Jazz Advent Calendar. Today, I’m playing "We Three Kings," a jazz waltz that tells the story of a journey to Bethlehem.

As we listen to this song about the Nativity, we must remember the reality of the geography. The Kings traveled to Palestine. Jesus was a Palestinian child born under occupation. The land celebrated in our carols is a real place with real people who are currently facing erasure.

I am dedicating Day 22 to the Hind Rajab Foundation. Today, the children of Palestine are not being visited by kings bearing gifts, but are facing unimaginable violence. The Hind Rajab Foundation is fighting to protect the people of this land by holding Israel accountable for its crimes in international courts. They are demanding justice in the very birthplace of the "Prince of Peace."

Civilisation: Warbringer

Ga in een brede spreidstand staan. Je tenen en knieën wijzen licht naar buiten.

Ga op je zij liggen, je elleboog onder je schouder.

Bevor wir uns an den besinnlichen Weihnachtstisch mit der Familie setzten, oder nach dem 3ten Glühwein alte Bekannte wiedertreffen, können wir leider eine Sache nicht ganz ausblenden: Den Zustand unserer Demokratie.

Ja wenn man sich auf einen gemeinsamen Nenner einigen muss dann vermutlich der, das sich in Deutschland einiges bessern muss. Mal rein statistisch, trauen das viele Menschen nur noch der AfD zu. Seit 2015 hat sicher jeder schon diverse Argumente für oder gegen die Partei gehört.

Doch 10 Jahre später scheint immernoch kein Ende der Diskussion in Sicht und die AfD ist zum Beispiel in Sachsen-Anhalt, näher an Regierungsverantwortung als je zuvor. Es ist also ein guter Zeitpunkt nochmal genau hinzusehen, was die Partei verändern möchte und was sie verändern kann.

Also habe ich mir für euch nochmal die wichtigsten Themen der AfD angeschaut, und was ihre Wähler eigentlich möchten. Doch dabei ist mir einiges Interessantes aufgefallen...
