I've wanted to capture the misty, mossy beauty of Hoyt Arboretum for the past two years, including its oldest Douglas fir in the park (you'll know it when you see it). I'm proud to say the stars have now aligned, and I get to share this wonderful work with you! Filmed in Portland, Oregon on December 5, 2025.
Standard Definition (SD) video is only 16% the resolution of High Definition (HD), and a microscopic 4% the resolution of 4K. I grew up watching my favorite movies on VHS, and Portland is just the city for that analog feel. I know I'm right at home with the dreamy look of magnetic tape.
EQUIPMENT:

The LMD-9000 series were direct replacements for the PVM-9L series (and the PVM-8000 series before that). In this video we explore these LCD PVMs, and then pit them against their CRT predecessors, seeing which has the best video quality under various circumstances.
