Mom and I made a trip to the ReStore a couple of days ago - here's what I brought home.
A look at a very cool, hobbyist-supported device that lets your vintage computer connect to Bulletin Board Systems wirelessly. Plus a demonstration of a few BBS systems.
A look at a very well-built early cassette recorder, that more than surprised me with its quality.
If you want an example of what this recorder was up against, here's a video of a hilariously terrible recorder from 1968:

Though purchased out of sad necessity when both of my modern laptops stopped working, I've become very fond of my new laptop. Here's an overview and demonstration of it.
In a sick twist of luck, both my Lenovo ThinkPad T400 and my Dell Latitude 3330 died around the same time. Here's the story.
As I said in the video, I'm going to try selling these two laptops, and the Dell Inspiron 1525, on my eBay page, themaritimegirl. If you wanna make an offer on any of these, hit me up.

In November my friend Sam and I participated in the ARRL SSB Sweepstakes, operating the school's amateur radio station, VE9UNB. We unfortunately made no contacts in our three hours in the station, but others had better luck, and we made a total of 106 contacts. We were asked if we could make this video for posterity, and we were glad to do so.
The VE9UNB team from the 2017 ARRL Sweepstakes SSB Contest is recognized in Sights and Sounds, from the ARRL Contest Update:

A look at an awesome vintage computer given to me years ago by a teacher in high school. This has been shelved since 2011 due to a lack of appropriate hardware to get it running properly, but it's now running better than ever, and has been heavily upgraded.
In case you're curious, here's the original video I filmed in 2011:
