    • Choose your element: no.27 & no. 24 - Hardware Jam Challenge contribution by Charly Hotel

      @HardwareJams

      (very last minute) Hardware Jams Weekend Challenge contribution by Charly Hotel.

      Two Perkons Voice Modules heavily modulated with all kinds of modules and tricks, going into an Audio Technica RMX64 4-Track-Recorder and from there one Send is going to Starlab Reverb module and another to the Fulltone Tube Tape Echo.

      This is the challenge:

      'Last week there was an imbalance within the 4 elements, heck someone threw aether in there too and KABOOM, out popped so many more elements! So the challenge is it pick your favourite chemical element from the table and create a jam inspired by it.
      Think of its real life uses, chemical reactions, medicinal properties? Riches? Get creative, you little John alchemists'

    • 1000HzisB5+21cents - Hardware Jams challenge contribution by Charly Hotel

      @HardwareJams

      Charly Hotels contribution to this weekends challenge:

      Charlys answer is '1000 Hertz is B5 plus 21cents'

      This is the challenge:

      'HWJ passed a milestone this week - we now have 1000 subscribers to our YouTube channel! To mark this exciting news, this weekend’s challenge is to jam around the idea of the number 1000 and celebrate!

      Don’t take this too literally, use your imagination - some examples might be:

      • what would 1000 oscillators sound like?
      • How could you use 1000 patch leads?
      • How would you get 1000 souls dancing in a club?
      • Make a jam worthy of being played at 1000dB?
      • Can my drum machine run at 1000 bpm?
      • Basically, go large and celebrate with us, however you see fit…

        Tell us what 1000s you are thinking about with your jams.'

      • Hieronymus Bosch - Hell - Hardware Jam Challenge contribution by Charly Hotel

        @HardwareJams

        Hardware Jams Weekend Challenge contribution by Charly Hotel.

        This weekend: Hieronymus Bosch - Garden of earthly delights - Hell

        ‚Here we go!! One of my favourite challenges of all time! PICTURE CHALLENGE 2025 it’s here!!!!

        Today I would love us to embark on a musical journey inspired by Hieronymus Bosch (1450-1516) Dutch painter (Wikipedia page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hierony...)
        Every time I look at one of his paintings (the more chaotic ones) I see jazz for some bizarre reason, but this is just my interpretation of it. What do you see in this pic? Can you translate it into a jam? Take a look at the painting below and enjoy the journey.

      • DoubleOrNothing - Hardware Jams Challenge contribution by Charly Hotel

        @HardwareJams

        Charly Hotels contribution to this weekends challenge - made with the Borderlands Granular App on an iPad ( https://www.borderlands-granular.com/app/ ):

        Charlys answer is 'rather play it double speed!' (so its over quickly - it does sound better at half speed though)

        This is the challenge:

        'This weekend’s challenge is a bit of a blind challenge. Make a jam in whichever style and genre you prefer. Maximum length THREE AND A HALF minutes (not the usual five). In the streamthrough, we will play jams at either half or double their original speed. You don’t get to choose which, it will be totally random. In other words, make a jam that would work both slowed down or sped up. Pitch isn’t affected by the change of speed. Your jam will end up either as a frantic jam at less than two minutes or an extended jam for seven minutes. This might wreak havoc on your original ideas and sounds, but it also might bring out some things you wouldn’t have discovered with your usual workflow.'
