In a time where new creations arrive with overwhelming speed and scale, it sometimes helps to acknowledge how hard and time intensive it really is to make art. I always try to find the rare moments of flow, when I can sit back, take the time to explore ideas deeply, without the goal to create something stunning at all costs.
Some weeks ago I had the pleasure to meet long-time online friend and US-based J-Pop artist shinkawasaki who was visiting Berlin to play at Ramen Festival – and we met in my studio in Potsdam for a little jam session to do exactly that. I wired up my drums with Senode on the iPad, to be able to control a bass line and some sequences using just my drum hits, and we improvised on that material. Here is a small excerpt from the session.
I'm looking forward very much to continue this collaboration soon! Please visit Shinkawasaki's linktree and find his music on Bandcamp to learn out more about his work.

Kevlin Henney on what becomes visible once AI enters the picture: in an eight-hour day, an hour of value demand is lucky, because most of the work is dealing with problems. From his conversation with Ralf D. Müller about AI as a mirror.

Kevlin Henney on why using AI doesn't turn you into the teams that succeed with it. AI multiplies the skills and the culture that were already there, so you get what you expect from that arrangement. From his conversation with Ralf D. Müller about AI as a mirror.

Kevlin Henney on what AI does to our pace of work: like the Red Queen in Through the Looking-Glass, we have to run twice as fast just to stay where we are, and collectively we are busier than ever. From his conversation with Ralf D. Müller about AI as a mirror.
