SMART CITY E CITTADINANZA DIGITALE

No training partner? no problem, if you have a bag at the gym let this be your sign to throw some kicks 💥
This video presents the different closed and half-closed hand strikes one can encounter in Karate. Note that these strikes are to be distinguished from punches (Tsuki / Zuki), which are the subject of another video. They are performed as executed in Kihon. The techniques can (and must) be adapted as soon as they are put into practice in any partner work or randori.

Kakete
Kake-te (the hooking, grabbing hand) is found in many katas.
In this video we explore other ways of using this technique. Kakete is presented here as various grips or throws, with Kote Gaeshi, for example. It is even used as an eye strike to escape a submission situation, for instance.
So these are interpretations of the technique. Dozens of other applications are possible.
These various interpretations should be considered as research work on the path of Budo, in no way as an absolute truth. Some applications may feel natural to you and others less easy to exploit. Keep what interests you and discard the rest.

Shuto Uke
Shuto Uke is defined as the block with the “outer edge of the hand”, Tō (刀) meaning sword.
In the Wado Ryu current, Shuto Uke is performed at Jōdan level (unlike Shotokan, where the technique is executed at Chudan). However, you will notice that some applications can apply just as well to the Shotokan shuto.
In this video we explore other ways of using this technique. Shuto Uke is presented here as various grips, immobilisations or throws (nage waza). These are therefore interpretations of the technique.
These various interpretations should be considered as research work on the path of Budo, in no way as an absolute truth. Some applications may feel natural to you and others less easy to exploit. Keep what interests you and discard the rest.
