Sujata Martin, a pelvic health occupational therapist, discusses her integration of Ayurvedic principles into Western medical practices to treat pelvic floor dysfunction. She emphasizes the importance of addressing pelvic health pre- and postpartum, using techniques like abdominal and pelvic massages with Ayurvedic oils. Martin highlights the benefits of Ayurvedic practices for digestive issues, mental health, and overall well-being. She stresses the need for early postpartum care, starting at two to three weeks postpartum, and the importance of empowering clients to take ownership of their healing.
