Lisa Taliano, an artist + philosopher + poet + activist hailing from New York City, is currently showcasing her exhibition titled "Material Entanglements: Bodies and Borders" at The Miller Gallery, housed within The Republic Building. Through her artwork, Taliano delves into an exploration of the interconnectedness between bodies and places within the ecological context. Her paintings embody a profound understanding of the fluid boundaries that exist between bodies and the broader environment, skillfully navigating the delicate balance between abstraction and representation.

Within her exhibition, "Material Entanglements: Bodies and Borders," Taliano employs her paintings as a tangible means to grapple with a transformative shift in the conceptualization of materiality. This shift prompts us to reconsider our conventional understanding of corporeality and challenges us to rethink what it truly means to possess a body.

In the first episode of our fall season, we engage in a conversation with Vinc Math, a bamboo expert from Germany, based in New York. He has extensive experience working with bamboo. He has built numerous bamboo structures all over the world and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others conducting workshops and lectures. 

This summer he worked on a project in our community, Columbus, Indiana; in collaboration with Studio Zewde from New York for Exhibit Columbus.
