Three novices, with very different tastes, try whiskeys (and whiskies, for you Scotch lovers) that can be purchased for less than $50 -- searching for the elusive top shelf whiskeys at a bottom shelf price. These are not whiskey pros but rather a group of friends who just love getting together to banter and taste a new whiskey.
