How can we hear bad news? Why do the innocent suffer? Why doesn’t Jesus do something to stop it? Welcome to Day 19 of your daily devotional readings called HEAVEN HELP US. We are taking a long term view in the book of Revelation to help us with our daily lives. Mister Rogers said, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’” The greatest helper is Jesus Christ. Jesus holds back evil every single day. “For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way.” (2 Thessalonians 2:7) Today’s reading is from Revelation 6:1-7:3.

Has your faith become ho-hum? Do you feel like you’re in the doldrums? Do you even know what the doldrums are? Welcome to Day 16 of the daily devotional podcasts called HEAVEN HELP US. We are reading Revelation 5:8-10. I’m Phil McCallum from the PeopleMagnet.School. I create these podcasts to help you to become ridiculously influential for Jesus. The doldrums are an area of the Atlantic Ocean along the Equator where sometimes no wind blows for days on end. In the days of sailing ships, that meant that ships and their passengers could be stuck in the middle of a hot ocean without a puff of wind for days on end. “The doldrums” came to mean a time in life that is inactive, stagnate, or downright depressing. Today, we are in the book of Revelation. We will open a door to let the breezes of heaven blow on us.
