How heavy is this glass of water? Welcome to Day 10 of your daily Bible readings with the PeopleMagnet.School. I’m Phil McCallum and I’m here to help you to become ridiculously influential for Jesus by getting back to basics. We are in Matthew 9:1-13. How heavy is this glass of water? It’s not heavy. At first. But the longer I hold onto it, the heavier it becomes. Our society has a lot of time alone. People have been holding this glass for a very long time. Living with regrets. Fears of the virus, economy, injustice, criticism, strife, corruption, plus family relationships, suppressed thoughts coming to the surface, loss of purpose. A lethargy. How can we put down the glass? That is the problem of unconfessed sin. Jesus offers a place to put our burdens down. Society has become more complex, therefore the church must become more simple. We need to be the place where people can set their glass down.
