I am a Swayambhu Writer. One day I just woke up as a poet. It was as if a great power had woken up inside me, a desire to learn, explore and simply exist with this force. 

I wanted to capture life and all its beautiful trails in words. 

I have truly believed that a higher force flows through me whenever I write, i seize to be Sunil Sathyendra and become Pungidasa. 

Poetry has given me so many things, 

Its given me hope, its given me fire, its given me an identity, its given me happiness, its been a way out. 

10 years of this intimacy has resulted in more than 5000 poems, two full fledged self published books. I have met some strangers and they have become friends, friends from all over the world connected by poetry.

So many such beautiful souls have been part of this journey. Thank you to you as well for being a part of my journey.

This poem is about an Olive Ridley turtle that has reached the shore to lay eggs. I have been watching a team of people who clean the shores riddled with plastic. They have been doing it for 80+ weeks in succession.

After almost 40 years, 9 turtle nests have been found on the shores.

Olive Ridleys come back to the same shore they were born and lay their eggs...it takes them 29 years to mature, they travel thousands of miles -- but remember where they were born...

This poem is a dedication to the work of Clean Kundapura project...
