  • PROCESS: Tips to Succeed in the Type 3 AHIMT Training Course
    This right of passage course is a must take for any budding incident management team (IMT) member or organization that wants an immersive way to learn the all-hazards incident management process.  Previous ICS training should be required for attendees (at least ICS 300) to keep the pace of the course driving forward.
    "Between the Slides 5" for this episode:
    * Be an adult. No egos. No silos.
    * Have a leg to stand on, then work the "P"
    * Don't "Ricky Bobby" your tac-tics
    * No magic resources in class. No magic resources in life
    * Active like you're saving lives. Soon enough you will be.

  • PROCESS: Expanding Your Bubble with ICS 300
    There are times each of us need to "expand our bubble" of personal and professional knowledge and comfort.  The Incident Command System (ICS) 300, Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents course is one that should definitely challenge and push attendees.
    "Between the Slides 5" for this episode:
    * There should be one command post, a unified one
    * Focus on the process
    * Be aware of the time wedge for incidents and complacency for planned events
    * Draw an organizational chart, then fill out the ICS 215
    * ICS is not just about forms...but...you have to learn them
