The podcast currently has 10 episodes available.
This was a very unique episode that we were excited to finally execute on. The Culture Crush Business Podcast and the People and Profit Podcast, sponsored by Conscious Capitalism Arizona, came together for a special crossover episode.
Matt Altman, with Sportiqe, was the best guest for this crossover experience. His knowledge and understanding of running and growing a conscious business was perfect for the conversation with co-hosts Jeremy Neis and Kindra Maples. Yes, businesses are here to make money and be profitable, but this can be done while also supporting the employees as humans. People and Profit should be on the same level. Your people are the ones that are going to take care of your customers. It is important to try and support their fundamental human needs; freedom, independence, community, family, and teamwork.
When we are connected together, we can help each other and there is a win- win outcome. They even had the chance to dive into the six values that Sportiqe has, that go beyond just writing on the walls. The “values and behavior are what drive a team and a family.” Teamwork, Evolve, Respect, Can Do, Integrity, and Fun are all values that have grown with the company and continuously lived through the team at Sportiqe.
This episode is great for all listeners! This conversation is great for any job level to listen in and find motivation in the way that Sportiqe is growing their brand. This conversation is great for CEO’s out there to listen to in order to understand the benefit and the need in taking care of your people with the same passion that drives the company to be profitable. This conversation shares insight into how to treat employees and the why behind it. We look forward to the next opportunity to have Matt back on the show.

Although the company is based in Chicago, Kindra continues to grow and support the community where she lives here in Arizona through her support to Phoenix Business RadioX and volunteering throughout the valleys.

When it comes to finding the right guests to bring on to the People and Profit Podcast, our team always has our eyes open for great company leaders that align with Conscious Capitalism and the four tenants. This month we did not have to look very far to find a well-known leader in the Conscious Capitalism network here within the Arizona community as well as the Conscious Capitalism International Team.
Brian Mohr jumped on the Conscious Capitalism bandwagon back before 2015 when he found “his people.” As many others, Brian stumbled upon the Conscious Capitalism movement and knew he had to be part of the tribe. He has been on the board for Conscious Capitalism International and currently sits on the board locally for the Arizona Chapter as well. Not only has he been part of Conscious Capitalism in that facet but also in his past and present company leadership roles that he has held. From growing the very culture focused company Y-scouts, to his new and very culture focused company anthym.
anthym is an interactive, personal storytelling platform leveraging the power of music to catalog some of the most meaningful and pivotal moments and memories in our lives.
It’s becoming clear that the future of work will be embracing an increase in work-from-anywhere and remote work scenarios, which presents a whole new set of challenges for teams and companies. anthym is focusing on bringing the team members together and allowing them to connect on a deeper level. We know WHAT people do but this program allows the team members to truly learn about WHO the people are that they work with.
This podcast dives into the tenant of company culture, why it is important, the need to improve it, and how anthym can improve it. This is a great podcast to listen to if you have read about conscious capitalism and you think that these people align with you. Listen in to find your tribe just like Brian did.

The post Interview with Brian Mohr of Anthym – Episode 9 of People + Profit Show appeared first on Conscious Capitalism Arizona.
Jeremy and Sarah had an extremely impactful conversation about company culture, employees shifting in the workplace, recognition from the leaders to the employees, and workplace engagement. We love when our guests have stories to share, with examples that showcase good company culture as well as some that are not so great. Company culture is something that both Ginny and Jerry support in their companies. Supporting employees directly relates to growing the company and making profit as well. Jerry directly points out that, “Without profit there is no business.”
As they progress through the conversation and the stories continue, we hear great examples and data to support the need for leadership to acknowledge and provide recognition to their employees. This means supporting employees during a pandemic and the rest of the time as well.
“Change has happened so we might as well acknowledge that and see where we go from here,” Ginny mentions as they discuss the changes and variety of ways that leaders can support their staff and help them to feel recognized even from home. Supporting the company culture is extremely important as we continue to work remotely as well as starting to shift back into working in the office again.
We were able to hear a variety of examples from Ginny on the HR side of things and how it is evolving. Back in the day, the role of the HR department was to “make sure our employees don’t sue.” HR departments are now one of the main parts that support driving and growing a good company culture. It has become more important to companies to have a strong culture, to support their staff, and to make sure their staff is fully engaged.
Both Ginny and Jerry have been running their companies in ways that align with the tenants of Conscious Capitalism, without knowing that this movement was even a thing until recently. There is a tremendous amount of alignment with Conscious Capitalism and both Jerry and Ginny’s companies, passions, and experiences that the listeners are able to hear through the conversation.
This podcast is a great one to listen to if you have read about the tenants of conscious capitalism and feel that you align but want to hear a little more. This podcast allows listeners to hear from two individuals that have been running businesses in a conscious way and have finally found their tribe of people that align with those similar tenants. Jerry and Ginny are two more leaders that we can add to the list of individuals that started out with this community as “unconscious conscious capitalists” and we are excited to have them in our community to join our tribe.

What an amazing woman that is helping to lead an amazing company! We were so thankful to have Dr. Heidi Jannenga on the show, with hosts Sarah McCraren and Kindra Maples (filling in for Jeremy Neis).
There are ways to grow a great business, support the staff, put the members first, and still continue to expand, ALL while focusing on great company culture! WebPT is doing all of these things!
We know this past year has not been great to all companies, but we love to hear when companies are growing during the pandemic, making the most of it, and creating something new from it all. This conversation with Dr. Heidi Jannenga highlighted some of the amazing work that WebPT has done over the past year, including creating programs that support the members and the patients in getting the PT support they need, and making change beyond the state with big decisions.
Along with the great work that Heidi is doing with WebPT, we are happy to highlight her for her support on the board for CCAZ. We look forward to what this year will bring with her support to the chapter.
WebPT is s great example of a company that was an “unconscious conscious capitalist.” They were already doing all of the things that aligned with Conscious Capitalism before they knew there was a name to go along with it. There are still numerous other companies out there like that too. This is a great episode to listen to if you are working for or leading a company that aligns with the four tenants of conscious capitalism but haven’t really gotten involved yet. You can hear about the ways that WebPT aligned with Conscious Capitalism and transitioned to getting involved.
Dr. Heidi Jannenga, PT, DPT, ATC, is the co-founder and Chief Clinical Officer of WebPT, an eight-time Inc. 5000 honoree and the leading software solution for physical, occupational, and speech therapists.
As a member of the board and senior management team, Heidi advises on WebPT’s product vision, company culture, branding efforts and internal operations, while advocating for rehab therapists, women leaders, and entrepreneurs on a national and international scale.
Heidi has guided WebPT through several milestones, including three funding rounds: an angel round with Canal Partners, a venture capital round with Battery Ventures and a private equity round with Warburg Pincus; five acquisitions; and numerous national corporate and industry awards.
In 2017, Heidi was honored by Health Data Management as one of the most powerful women in IT, and she was a finalist for EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2018, she was named the Ed Denison Business Leader of the Year at the Arizona Technology Council’s Governor’s Celebration of Innovation. She also is a proud member of the YPO Scottsdale Chapter and Charter 100.
Heidi is a mother to her 9-year-old daughter Ava and enjoys traveling, hiking, and practicing yoga in her spare time.

Laura and Jodi were a perfect match for the conversation about creating a conscious business where they are supporting the community, making profit, and keeping in consideration the four tenants of Conscious Capitalism. Both women took a step to create a business that they could grow, and that they continue to grow through the pandemic.
Jodi, a local member of the Conscious Capitalism Arizona Chapter, highlights how she has grown her conscious business that empowers both adults and teens to create stronger personal and professional lives. Laura was able to join from San Diego to highlight her company WHYZ Partners and how they have been able to successfully navigate purpose and profit. We were able to dive into the purpose behind her new book The ABC’s of Conscious Capitalism for Kids and how it aligns well with the teen program that Jodi leads.
Grit and Grace is how they do it. When it comes to success, they are measuring what matters, taking the first step even if it is difficult, continuing to be authentic, and elevating humanity daily.
Not only was this a great conversation full of motivational takeaways, but we may have just found a perfect match for future collaboration. Although, we are in the middle of a pandemic and having to do all Conscious Capitalism Arizona events virtually, there is one thing that we are still able to do and that is make connections.
We hope folks listen in and take away some motivational thoughts about taking chances, being authentic, and remembering all of your stakeholders to grow. The takeaway from the show and from this entire pandemic- continue to have grit and grace.
Laura Hall is a global business leader in the fashion and consumer goods industry. She left her last corporate role as president of accessories for Polo Ralph Lauren to join forces with two other female C-Suite executives to create WHYZ Partners.
Laura has been called a ‘collaborative co-conspirator’ by her clients and her peers – a descriptor she proudly accepts. And most recently, Laura is the author of a new children’s book The ABCs of Conscious Capitalism for KIDs – because Laura believes that “it is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men”…as Frederick Douglass said over a century ago.
