Relationship is everything.

In parting instructions, Jesus told His disciples to make more disciples.  The global movement that we know as Christianity spans nations and generations as a result of believers teaching other believers about Jesus.  Be challenged to grow deeper in your understanding of God by making a personal commitment to be discipled and make disciples.

For Mary and Joseph, whatever may have seemed ordinary about their lives was disrupted for God’s extraordinary purpose. Our Heavenly Father spoke to Jesus’ earthly parents individually, but with a unified message. God continues to disrupt what we plan for His far greater plans – if we allow Him to lead the way.

The first encounter between John the Baptist and Jesus Christ happened when they were in their mothers’ wombs. Elizabeth carried the son who would prepare people to respond to Mary’s Son. If pain from Elizabeth’s past had trapped her in bitterness, she would have missed out on being part of the plan that brought the Savior to a sinful world.

The Bible records three interactions Mary had before the birth of Jesus. One of the those interactions is with a messenger angel from God. Through this encounter, we see our Heavenly Father’s promise to be with those who are committed to His purposes.
