Peoples Church Salem

Missionary Randy Tarr from Africa's Hope join us as we end our missions week. Randy speak on the power of arriving on time and the power of training one worker. His encouragement today is for "a vibrant church within walking distance of every African."

Through missions, we have the privilege and responsibility to expand our influence circle to the ends of the earth. Because we know the consequence of a life separated from God, we are compelled to share the love of Christ with people in faraway places who we are unlikely to meet this side of eternity.

God gives believers influence to share the love of Christ in their community. In sending out His disciples, Jesus revealed how to have life-changing connections with those who are ready, willing and waiting for a spiritual conversation.

God places us in influence circles where we have an opportunity and responsibility to reflect the love of Christ. See how a man’s love for his daughter in a desperate situation compelled him to bring Jesus into their home – giving Christ followers an example worth following today.

The way Jesus teaches and challenges His followers to act and react in everyday situations is so often different than - even opposite of how others act or react. The way Jesus challenges His followers to live out their faith often does not make sense to people who are not following Christ.

It is the opposite of obvious when Jesus says, “don’t invite your friends, brothers, relatives, and rich neighbors” to your next dinner party. Jesus is actually confronting an attitude of giving that is based on receiving. Discover how the best hospitality is given, not exchanged.

Love your enemies. Find joy in trials. Receive more in giving than receiving. Uncover how following Christ so often demands the opposite of obvious.

We are in a time when there has been so much pressure to live isolated-to live disconnected. This is where we as believers choose to Live Connected. Live connected to Christ. Live connected to the Holy Spirit. Live connected to people.
