Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If they are interested in true crime, yes, absolutely.
Any additional comments?
Better than average true crime book. Just proves that ANYONE can be fooled by a sociopath. The fact that this good hearted, intelligent, hard working woman and her family had no clue who this creep really was is a testament to the cold craft and manipulative skills of this particular breed of psycho. Well written, good read all around.
Be careful when your family says he's a really nice Greek boy
Loved the story about a first generation Greek woman who marries a "charming "Greek immigrant only to wake up to the nightmare that he's a Greek wolf in sheep's clothing.
Interesting story.
Interesting story. shows you never really know anyone! Good narration. listened to the whole thing in a couple of days.
Engrossing
This is a better-than-average telling of the story of a sociopathic murderer and the havoc he wreaked on his victims.
Thanks to author Provost for letting the sorry tale stand on its own merits without resorting to an examination of the lives of peripheral characters such as investigating officers.
Good narration by Arthur Flavell who has obviously taken the time and care to check the pronunciation of names and words that are a little out of mainstream usage.
Writing leaves much to be desired...
Would you try another book from Gary Provost and/or Arthur Flavell?
I believe I have several books read by Arthur Flavell, but this is my first from Gary Provost and I wouldn't recommend anything of his.
Would you ever listen to anything by Gary Provost again?
No... The writing leaves much to be desired. Lots of "he said, she said, he said, he said, she said", over and over and over.
Have you listened to any of Arthur Flavells other performances before? How does this one compare?
I believe so, he's great when listening to a book from a male perspective. This book would have probably been better with a female voice, because it does revolve heavily around the wife of the killer. I think I would have felt more attached to the story that way.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
It was odd. That's all I have to say about it. I did some research on the people involved in this story (since the book is rather dated), and I was happy to see that Lisa is alive and well with a new husband. Kosta is still sitting on death row, however, there is no scheduled date for his execution.
Any additional comments?
I think there are much better crime stories.
