Amanda is currently in the third year of her undergraduate degree studying kinesiology and physical education at the University of Toronto.
She works at a conductive education school for youth with cerebral palsy and other motor conditions where they integrate the Ontario curriculum with the physical therapy needs of each child, as well she is working with a professor at UofT to find ways to foster quality participation and make playgrounds more socially inclusive for kids with disabilities. On top of this, she has a placement at a non-profit and started her own business.
She really wanted to merge her love of cute accessories and her passion for helping individuals with disabilities, so she started creating necklaces with the option of adding a magnetic clasp for individuals that struggle with fine motor skills.
"I know putting on a necklace is a small thing, but I hope to help people gain a sense of independence and change the way we think about inclusivity and fashion. My goal is to make the world a little more inclusive, one necklace at a time."
