Round Two and Round Three of the 2026 NFL Draft were kind of a movie for The Dolphins. From having generational talent at the linebacking spot fall into our laps with Jacob Rodriguez, to the nightmare of being sniped in the third and scrambling to land a different wide receiver in the 3rd, day two was a spectrum of emotions for Dolphins fans everywhere.

Sam breaks down what worked, what didn’t and what to make of a couple of picks that no one saw coming.

Welp, The 2026 NFL Draft is over and The Miami Dolphins are walking away with a haul of 13 drafted players. Including a couple of controversial players in round one. After trading back with Dallas and passing on Caleb Downs at 11, Miami shocks the NFL world by drafting Kadyn Proctor, offensive linemen out of Alabama.

And just as the shock of that trade was sinking in, Miami pulls off another deal to move up and select Chris Johnson, CB, San Diego State. In doing so, they leapfrogged Buffalo and seemingly forced The Bills to abandon the first round all together.

We these the right moves? Should they have done something different? Sam rewinds the first round for Miami and gives you his thoughts on what he loved, what he would have changed and why Jon-Eric Sullivan already deserves a statue in South Florida.

Miami has three Day 3 draft picks in this year’s draft. A fifth rounder and a pair of seventh rounders. Whether or not that ends up being the final tally or not remains to be seen. But regardless of what the final pick count looks like, Sam feels pretty confident that he knows where the team will focus their energies with regards to positions.

While having two picks in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft is impressive, it might be more impressive what Miami has amassed on day two of the draft. With six more picks, and four in the third round (four!!!), The Dolphins have the ability to bully the board however they see fit. Can they trade back up into the second round?

Sure.

Could they trade back and gain additional picks in this draft, as well as next year’s?

Possibly.

Or is it plausible they stand pat and pick to their heart’s desire as the draft unfolds in front of them?

Absolutely.

That’s the beauty of what Jon-Eric Sullivan and his front office have created. Total flexibility is on the table for Miami when the draft turns to the middle day. Sam tells you where he thinks Mimai will focus their efforts and which players may entice Miami to make a move early.

The Dolphins have 11 picks in the NFL Draft this year, seven of those are in the top 100 and two of which, are in the first round. Number 11 overall and number 30 overall are Miami’s picks to do what they decide. Will they trade up? Will they trade down? Or will they stand pat and pick the best player’s available at both spots?

One of the most beloved players in team history is gone. Jaylen Waddle, former first round pick and all around great guy, has been traded to the Denver Broncos for a first and third round draft pick in 2026. While the compensation seems fair, the emotional toll it is taking on the fanbase, is not. Jon-Eric Sullivan continues to gut the franchise and strip any remnants from previous regimes out from the fabric of the team.

Sam cracks the glass on the emergency podcast system to give you his immediate thoughts on the trade, what this means for the 2026 team and tries to make heads or tails of what happens next.

Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley continue to do what they say they are going to do. This time, they go out and address the quarterback position with their first major acquisition, agreeing to terms on a three-year pact with former Packer, Malik Willis. To make room for him on the roster (and under the salary cap) the boys cut Tua Tagovailoa, released Alec Ingold and Jason Sanders and traded away Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Jets (eww!).

Whether you like the move or not, you have to give credit to the new front office, they were determined to re-shape the roster and find a QB they felt could lead this team, and they did exactly that. Welcome to Perfectville, Malik Willis!

As the offseason progresses towards the start of a new league year, Sam returns refreshed, rejuvenated and pleasantly surprised with what The Miami Dolphins have done so far under the new regime of Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley. The team was in desperate need of a detox and the buzzcut boys have done exactly that.

From superstar wide receivers being cut, to low-level, non-contributors being sent packing, the new Dolphins regime is not only preaching a new culture, but practicing it, as well. Sam dives into all the moves Miami has made so far to try and right the ship, and looks ahead to the quarterback positions as the Tua show gets ready to drop.

Much to the surprise of NO ONE, Jon-Eric Sullivan makes his first real impression as the new Generla Manager of The Dolphins in hiring former Defensive Coordinator for The Green Bay Packers, Jaff Hafley. The life long coach brings plenty of experience as a coordinator and position coach, along with his stint as the Head Coach of Boston College for four years.
