Zach Wilson and Quinn Ewers combined to throw 3 touchdown passes, Ethan Robinson picked off Henson Hooker on the ‘Phins 13 yard-line on the final drive of the game, and Miami held on for the 24-17 win to move to 1-0-1 this preseason.

Wilson (15-23, 151 yards, TD) and Ewers (11-16, 116 yards, 2 TD’s) each looked great in a full half of action, as the ‘Phins solidify their QB2 & QB3 behind starter Tua Tagovailoa. Neither QB threw an interception, and only Wilson took a sack, albeit on a 4th & 4 from the Lions’ 9 yard-line with under 2:00 left in the 1st half.

Robinson’s pick came after Ewers led Miami on a 92-yard drive that chewed up 8:52 on the clock and culminated with a 2–yard field goal from Jason Sanders to make it 24-17.

The Dolphins took a 7-0 lead on Wilson's 11-yard TD toss to Dee Eskridge late in the 1st quarter. Ewers threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Theo Weas Jr. on his 1st drive to tie the game at 14, and he hit Wease for an 8-yard score to make it 21-17 with 12:22 to play before adding the drive that led to Sanders’ FG.

Neither team played many starters, with most key players sitting out.
