When you go to the gym, or work out at home, do you have a specific vision of who you want to be that you are working towards?
Do you have goals, ambitions, and objectives to lose weight, build muscle, or develop strength, but the detail of those goals stops there?
We all can create a vision for what we want to look like, feel like and be like.
What most people don't know is that when you create that vision in your head, that's when you can actually start building real disciplines and habits to become that version of yourself. That will ultimately become the route to creating a strong mindset.
In this episode, Gordon talks in detail about how starting with a detailed vision of who and what you want to become, will be the catalyst for actually working on a consistent basis to develop yourself in that way. The big punchline on this is that your vision of who you want to become should be detailed, thorough, and real.
As you begin to work towards this goal or vision that you have in your head for what you want to look/feel/perform like, your confidence, self worth and internal value will increase. As you recognize this, you will naturally be drawn to continue working towards that vision even more. This creates the cycle that will cause your mindset to become strong, focused and unwavering in the drive to become what you really want.
This episode is going to completely change your opinion on why people fail at fitness and health goals, and why others succeed. What's even better, is how most of this can be translated directly to other areas of your life.

The body can be developed in many different ways. One of the main ways we can help our bodies is by strengthening it. And the main way to build strength in our bodies is to give it a reason to grow and become stronger! Without giving the body a reason to do this, it will not develop strength, size, or additional support.
In this episode, Gordon dives into the main way to build strength in the body: weightlifting. This includes many forms of weightlifting, and stressing the body through opposing forces or resistance. Included in this discussion are the many perspectives of weightlifting from people both within and outside the community.
There are a lot of opinions about weightlifting from those who have never done it, or developed a sour taste towards the subject due to some bad experience. The truth is, weightlifting in some form is really the only way to truly develop strength, muscle density, size, and a more supportive body.
Have you thought about, talked about, or even tried weightlifting and quickly discarded it as something you don't want to do for some reason or another? I encourage you to think again! Moving your body against the resistance of weight creates such a beautiful result in the way the body feels, the energy levels associated with it, and the aesthetic facade that comes with it. No one who has ever lifted weights and felt the positive effects has regretted it.
Aside from the discussion of positive effects, Gordon also talks about form, injury prevention, and other common topics from both beginners and experienced athletes alike.
This is a powerful episode, especially for beginners. Tons of value, and lots of great advice for people who are looking to transform their bodies and lives.

How often do you think about moving your body?
More importantly, how much do you prioritize moving your body?
Too many people neglect the simple actions of moving their body on a daily basis. If only they would get up and put a focus on some cardio, resistance exercising, weightlifting, or simply stretching, they would experience the addictive nature of how good it feels to take care of our bodies.
In this episode, Gordon dives into the importance of movement on a daily basis. He goes over some of the natural energy side-effects that are the result of movement and exercise, which can single-handedly be the root cause of making someone day infinitely better.
Aside from having a better day, Gordon goes into the obvious (and not so obvious) effects that physical movement can have on the body, and why everyone should do it.

Welcome to Strength of Body and Mind!
In this initial episode, Gordon introduces himself and talks about the purpose of the podcast and brand "Strength of Body and Mind" and what it means.
He also dives into the concept behind the mindset being the main foundation in which all fitness and health related disciplines and habits are built upon.
Gordon found a passion for fitness in 2008 when he found himself nearly 100 lbs overweight and finally had the AH-HA moment of "enough is enough." Through months and years of self-confidence and self-image issues, Gordon created a highly introverted and self-contained personality. HOWEVER, by identifying in his own mind what exactly he wanted to be, he was able to start slowly acting towards that goal. Within a year, he lost ~85 lbs, and created traits in himself that he wanted. From there, Gordon has been deeply passionate about fitness, nutrition, health and mental strength. Over 10 years, he has created a system that ANYONE who is struggling with weight or or weight-related confidence issues can follow and grow from in order to get past these issues and become who they want, physically and mentally.
