  • S1 EP2: How to Build a Web3 Media Company with Daisy Alioto, Dirt

Everyone has an opinion about Web3. But not everyone happens to be a media company building in Web3. That’s where Dirt comes in and more specifically, Daisy Alioto.

For such a vast topic, actual media operators in the Web3 space are relatively thin on the ground. Getting first-hand experience, accurate data on the impact of this technology and what it means for the media industry is a rare find. That’s why Daisy Alioto’s insights are so valuable.

Adam and Daisy discuss Dirt, the daily newsletter providing unique takes and smart conversation on all things streaming, entertainment and digital culture. Daisy talks about her background and shines some light on where the future of Web3 will and won’t take media operators going forward.

Daisy’s an absolute pro at building and managing audiences. Managing relationships is a high priority for episode sponsor Sailthru. Their platform is designed to build relationships with an audience who move the needle for your business. Find out more here: https://www.sailthru.com/

  • S1 EP1: Reporting The Black Innovation Economy With Sherrell Dorsey, The Plug

She’s an author, CEO and Founder, and she’s crazy gifted at storytelling. She’s Sherrell Dorsey, the talent behind The Plug, a digital news platform reporting on the Black innovation economy.

Media companies are built on storytelling, yet very often there’s a disconnect and brands get it horribly wrong. But not Sherrell. This is her superpower and one she’s monetized through her subscription-only digital news and insights platform.

Adam gets into the weeds of why lazy reporting on black founders created an opening for Sherrell’s empire, why helping readers connect to stories beyond the usual cast of characters matters, and how quality journalism is at the heart of The Plug’s product.

You’ll hear Sherrell’s pricing strategy for her unique database of subscribers and her expert opinion on the future of the media landscape. This is one media podcast you won’t want to miss.

Media Moves is sponsored by Sailthru who, like The Plug, are building an audience-first platform giving media executives more time to build meaningful relationships with the right people. Learn more here: https://www.sailthru.com/

  • Media Moves: Season 1 Trailer

The world of Media is moving faster and faster. When executives have more to process than ever before, how do you stay ahead of what’s coming around the corner?

I’m Adam Ryan, Co-Founder and CEO of Workweek. And as a media executive I know how hard it can be to keep up with our perpetually changing industry. That’s why I started Media Moves: To deliver the latest news, moves and predictions media executives need to know to stay at the top of our industry.

Our conversations have two parts. First we zoom in on how executives are executing their playbooks. Our guests are world-class at what they do coming from companies like 6AM City, Dirt, and The Plug, and I want to get into the weeds of how they deliver. We’ll get to know the media they’re consuming as well as the challenges they’re working through.

Second, we zoom out on where media is heading. What is going to look different in 5 years’ time? And what will stay the same? By knowing what trends are unfolding, you’ll be able to make stronger bets about your business’s future.

Media Moves gives you practical playbooks and thoughtful predictions on what lies just around the corner for our industry that you won’t want to miss.
