In our world today, we see people--perhaps even those we love--walking under what feels like a 'spirit of delusion.' They are caught in narratives that defy reality, or hearts that have grown cold to the truth. We often feel helpless as we watch them drift.

But listen to the voice of Psalm 83. It doesn't just ask God to defeat the enemy; it asks God to _shame_ them. Why? Because shame is the point where the delusion fails. It's the moment the lie stops working.

Asaph, the psalmist, is showing us a hard mercy. He is praying that the Lord would allow the full weight of their confusion to hit them--to fill their faces with the reality of where they are--so that in that vacuum of pride, they might finally look up.

Friend, if you are praying for someone caught in darkness, don't just pray for their comfort. Pray verse 16. Pray that their current path would lead to a shame so profound that the only thing left for them to grasp is the name of the Lord.

This is not a prayer for their destruction; it is a prayer for the end of the lie. It is the cry for the moment the Prodigal finally realizes he is hungry.

Because as the psalms remind us, God must often humble us before He can heal us.

Let the facade crumble. Let the Divine shame come. So that the seeking can begin."
