Sifu Dwight Hennings is the creator of the S3VT : System / Science / Skills Ving Tsun, WSLVT of Toronto, Canada.
He is a regular contributor to the Wing Chun Illustrated Magazine and the organizer and presenter of the WSLVTNA 2017 (Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun North America) Event taking place from Fri., September 1st to Sun. September 3rd 2017 in Los Angeles, California.
Sifu Hennings was the co-organizer of the Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun North America event.
The event took place in Los Angeles, in Sifu Gary Lam’s school and from what I could see was a huge success.
I reached out to Sifu Dwight and asked him to share his experience organizing the event and the feedback that he got, because as you may already know, the purpose of this podcast is to bring us closer together as martial artists and as people.
And Events are an awesome way to do so.
I hope to see more Wing Chun, Ving Tsun, Wing Chung etc. schools organize more events where people can come together, share and learn from each-other.
And I hope this inspires you to think about creating your own event with a medium of growth and constructive cooperation.

Dr. Mark Phillips began his study of Wing Chun in 1986 under Master James Sinclair. Now after twenty seven years of professional teaching, he is ranked as one of the leading instructors in the UK Wing Chun Assoc and is a registered instructor with the prestigious ‘Ving Tsun Athletic Association’ in Hong Kong as so.
Now, this was a very interesting conversation.
I got a chance to sit down and pick Mark's brains on what he feels makes a strong mindset for martial arts and for life.
My favorite part was the idea that we all need to embrace failure and that we need to set small milestones to always look at the next step.
If you've enjoyed this podcast episode, please share it as it will also help me on my journey towards helping one million people unleash their power and heal themselves. Thank you!

Sifu Mark Hobbs discovered martial arts from a young age. He discovered Wing Chun at the age of 16, after starting with Judo and Boxing.
He started teaching MMA, 'by accident'. When his students saw his grappling capabilities in a sparring match they asked to learn more about that and he had fighters asking him to train them.
I personally found the conversation very interesting and I appreciated his openness and straight forward approach to martial arts.
