Sometimes, how we choose to see things are often more critical than what we see. Most of us will look at an object or scene and mostly agree on what we see. What differentiates us most often is how we interpreted what we have seen, the 'how we see'. It is a case of half empty vs half full or in as may be in the case of two mountain climbers, one saying  "I am too far from the top of the mountain and I am tired I can't continue"  and another saying "I am a considerable distance from where I started from the bottom of the mountain, I might as well get on to the top".
