Cheryl Brady is the Founder/Owner of Vet Care Express Animal Ambulance. Vet Care Express is one of the country's first ambulance services specializing in providing both emergency and non-emergency transport for sick and injured pets. Since it's inception in 2010, Vet Care Express has helped nearly 10,000 pets and their owners get the compassionate care and transport needed to Veterinary hospitals. Cheryl also is a Certified Instructor in Pet CPR/First Aid. Cheryl has taught hundreds of pet owners how to care for their pets should they have an emergency or need first aid. Isabel Alvarez Arata founded The Wag Pack in 2008 after recognizing the need for a specialized pet sitting company that would offer outstanding service, personalized care, and unparalleled peace of mind to Northern Virginia residents. Isabel has since received various industry honors including the NAPPS 2012 Business of the Year Award and NAPPS 2014 President’s Award. The Wag Pack staffs a team of 15-20 dog walkers/pet sitters and is consistently recognized as one of the DC area’s best pet care companies by publications such as Washingtonian Magazine. Isabel is a PetTech Pet First Aid Instructor and has written a number of pet-related articles for numerous online and print publications.

Gina Bullock is the owner of The Pet Nanny Lakeland in Lakeland Florida. Gina has celebrated 5 full years of serving pet owners in her hometown and has received several local awards in her business groups such as Kiwanis and Lakeland Business Leaders. She is a Score success story and now a Score mentor.

Casey Shork is a pet parent in Brooklyn, NY. She resides with her husband, 15 year old son and their dog Rocky. Casey will be sharing about her experience with her grooming and pet sitting service Pampered Paws.

Kaly White was born and raised in Montreal and now live in Akwesasne, a Mohawk Reservation in Upper State New York.

She worked as a medical transcriptionist and did surgery bookings in Montreal hospitals. She began baking dog treats for local fundraisers in 2010, then more consistently when her dog Max started having seizures after eating certain commercial dog foods. When she was managing the community’s CATS Spay/Neuter Program in 2011 she had the idea of starting a homemade dog bakery and give a portion of the sales to this program, thus the logo representing the dogs helping the cats, with green leaves growing on top to show the "healthy" touch. Today this program is under their local animal shelter, the Akwesasne Animal Society, which this dog bakery donates to.

As she was researching about dog treats she met a group of people who lost their dogs to the Chinese jerky treats and were determined to make a difference, Animal Parents Against Pet Treats and Food Made in China. As she helped them administer their Facebook page she learned a lot about the sad consequences of poisoning and it became clear that starting her dog bakery would give dogs (and their owners) healthier choices and was a great opportunity to share and exchange knowledge about pet nutrition.

Akwesasne Puppy Style Dog Biscuits was born in 2012 and it became Puppy Style Treats & More in 2015. While still holding a day job, Kaly attends local vendor events and can see that pet owners have become more aware of what they feed their dog(s), they read labels and know what they are looking for. The bakery will offer pupcakes, homemade paw balms and dog soaps this summer.

Bella Vasta is the dynamic personality behind Jump Consulting. After starting her pet sitting company while attending college at Arizona State University, she went full speed ahead growing her business to become nationally and locally award winning, boasting with employees. Throughout the years, Bella has been known to blaze her own trail through the pet industry, carving out a path that many have followed. She has been featured in Entrepreneur Magazine, Huffington Post, NBC, ABC, FOX, NPR, and more. Bella sold her pet sitting business for over six figures, and now lives out her passion to inspire, motivate, and challenge business owners through her coaching, consulting, speaking, and podcast.

Interested in floral design - following high school graduation attended Ritter School of Design in Boston. Owned flower shops in Keene, NH and Sarasota. Moved with husband and daughter and was stay at home mom until she turned 16 years old and had her own wheels. Wanted to go back to work so was employed by a major airline in two of their hub cities until retirement. Moved back to West Coast Florida in Fall of 2014 with two cats - Duane (deceased) and Kobe.

Worked in the marina business 30 years. Became involved with Underdog Rescue 6 years ago and was hooked on rescue. Decided one day that I wanted to start a pet supply store. I don't exactly know why, I just felt I could help people with better choices for their cats and dogs. A lot of people do not know how to navigate and understand food and treat ingredients and their impact on their pets. The draw was so strong for me I decided to use my retirement savings and start a business. Something I never thought I would ever consider. I have now been in business 3 years and feel I have found a calling. It's tough, I should have done this when I was much younger, but I would not change the decision I made. I really enjoy it and am very grateful for the wonderful people I have met.

NAPPS President, Jessica Abernathy, began her career at United Airlines where she ran one of the training departments, managing over 3,000 employees and worked in customer service training for 10 years. Following her airline career, Jessica ventured into the beauty industry, owning a beauty business for 12 years and loving every minute of it. Still, after the events of 9/11 Jessica realized that she needed another form of income and was inspired by a client who requested Jessica to watch her kitten. Thus, Professional Pet Sitter, Inc. began. In addition to Professional Pet Sitter, Inc., Jessica is also the owner of Chicagoland Cat Sitters.

I am insured and bonded and I am accredited by Pet Sitters Associates. My education background is in Veterinarian medicine as well as Animal Behavior. I also have a Master's Degree in Business Management. I recently moved to the area from Pennsylvania and I am continuing my business here. I provide daily visits and walks as well as bedtime visits for clients that work every day or are on vacation. I care for dogs, cats and small mammals and even fish!
