Brown has a long rap sheet spanning nearly two decades, with prior convictions and multiple recent arrests. Kaliner criticizes the justice system for allowing Brown to remain free despite clear signs of mental instability. He also notes the lack of response from city officials, especially in light of their push for a sales tax increase to fund more transit projects. Kaliner argues the city's focus should be on public safety first, highlighting a failure in leadership and priorities.
