John Durham Investigating Obama Holdover Who Leaked General Flynn's Transcript - 1690-6P

According to a Nov. 21 report by independent journalist Sara Carter, U.S. Attorney John Durham is questioning personnel in the Pentagon’s Office of Net Assessment (ONA). ONA awarded about $1 million in contracts to FBI informant Stefan Halper, who appears to have played a key role in alleged U.S. intelligence agency spying on 2016 Trump campaign advisers Carter Page and George Papadopoulos.  In addition, however, a court filing indicates that ONA’s director, James H. Baker, “is believed to be the person who illegally leaked the transcript of Mr. Flynn’s calls” to The Washington Post. Specifically, the filing states, “ONA Director Baker regularly lunched with Washington Post Reporter David Ignatius.”

He has denied the accusation through attorneys. Author and journalist Ronan Farrow, whose reporting provided a leading impetus for the #MeToo movement, said that former President Bill Clinton was “credibly accused of rape” by Juanita Broaddrick, an allegation “overdue for revisiting.”  Asked by HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher if the former president could have survived sexual misconduct allegations in today’s political climate, Mr. Farrow replied, “Bill Clinton is a different conversation.”

GUEST: Michael Bowman has not filed his taxes since 1999, but he was not charged with a crime until 2017. His case went to federal court and ended with a mistrial.  Michael faced misdemeanor charges for willful failure to file a return but was initially charged with felony tax evasion; his public defender, Matt Schindler, got that charge thrown out for lack of evidence.   His case rests on his objection to paying taxes for religious reasons. He said he does not want his money to go toward funding abortions. Bowman believes the First Amendment, the Oregon Constitution, and the Federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act protect his right to make that choice. He says he is innocent. 

"It’s unfair to Christians that actually care about their fellow human beings," Bowman said. "It's unfair when it impacts their conscience. We don't force people to do what we think and the very definition of freedom is, we all should be free to do what we want to do, as long as it's not attacking other people, and they're definitely attacking us."
