You are welcome to listen in as I "explain things scientific". I have had great fun with lasers, robots and absorbing Quantum Physics. Now as a classroom teacher, laid low by heart surgery its time t... more

January 04, 2020Absolute Best Science Fiction Story EverThis was just such a beautiful story, so many twists that illuminate issues. January 02, 2020Xmas New Scientist4The lack of vaccinations on measles is sad verging on criminal. I found the Alzheimer's disease breakthrough interesting similar to scurvy. Have to go. MP4 recording MP3 recording -- -- Your browser does not support the audio element....more0minPlay
December 30, 2019Humanity 3_0 = QuantumThe eerie contact between Humanity 1.0 and 2.0 is covered as I drive to a mates place. December 30, 2019Xmas New Scientist3What a joyous decade 2010 to 2020 has been for science even if it has been a bit of a rough touch and go come sad one for me. MP4 recording MP3 recording -- -- Your browser does not support the audio element....more0minPlay

December 30, 2019Xmas New Scientist2Some articles I enjoyed some were just really bad science. I like the Danish beer study, what a cheeky way to get free beer. We have the rodeo ants from Texas, I just really think parasitism should never be a surprise. There is something mad about the Japanese robot grandpas. Greenland ice melting is a rather sombre affair. The African super civilization that appears to extend over a greater time than the Roman Empire, just really gets me thinking what are the elements that lift up a culture and make others leave little behind in term of impact on future thought. There is the genetic cyclic life time flu, that makes me think about how much we just cure as much as we can rather than look at the some total of human suffering. It has been some 4 hours since I read this and I am really struggling to get the full memory dump going. But at least I am improving. December 27, 2019Enhanced Science Demonstrations_Well it is all coming together. I am using noise canceling head phones and it makes the editing via text to speech so much easier, and less strain. I am stumped by just how many goes it gets to get a well tuned paragraph. The prize of a new era in science teaching where we have our kids taught by scientists and not by simpletons is just around the corner. I hope, but now I am even getting the slightest glimmer of a feeling that we might just get there. MP4 recording MP3 recording -- -- Your browser does not support the audio element....more0minPlay
December 25, 2019Molecular tour of bacteriaIndeed bacteria are sugar coated with sprinkles of amine an lactic acid. Sorry my dictaphone lost its rubber band so there is the odd clicking sound. However we go on tour through all those beautiful molecules and feel the pull of those electron loving groups.
