December 10, 2019Cosmos Mag 83 -6bI think the US has a real problem with its citzens able to own the land directly. We own the title to the land to live on it, but the resources require a licence to exploit. Now owning the title can limit access of others, but in the case of fracking people can apply to the government to kick you off. At any case it sounds like a real night mare in the making the wild west destroying the past. MP4 recording MP3 recording -- -- Your browser does not support the audio element....more0minPlay

December 10, 2019Cosmos Mag 83 -7I love the first planimal fossil for 540 million years ago being a doormat that couldn't possibly imagine the slew of predators from the upcoming Cambrian explosion. I am do how ever think the idea that we are seeing only crinkly inside hard to take when you think of the evidence from the folded doormats. I know the family of the Geologist who first uncovered them in South Australia. The untold story I feel is important is the idea that these guys where a global success story, so must have had a nymph stage to travel so far. I also think that they might have been multiple organisms living in a colony like the modern day jelly fish. December 07, 2019Cosmos Mag 83 -4This was absolute torture for a quantum physicist to read some one explain and misinform. It shows just how flakey people can be. MP4 recording MP3 recording -- -- Your browser does not support the audio element....more0minPlay
December 06, 2019Ancient - Barbarian - EnlightenmentSorry about this podcast while walking, checking on a friend, then in on the Museum then buying milk. I have a epiphany in understanding that there are all stages of history playing out at once. Some practices are ancient like democracy. December 04, 2019Cosmos Mag 83 -2Really listening to the complex no talk about climate change is really laugh able. I found astroKate's description of colliding neutron stars just really good. I now know we know what elements are made because we turned our telescopes to look at one. Fascinating! Alan Finkel is just really has a way with expression for driverless cars. The really long article on hibernation just about put me to sleep. Some of the scientists are not good enough to pick up they are not good enough.
