In Episode Four, we ask: what’s the point of city slogan anyway? Then, interviews with participants of Katimavik’s Indigenous Youth in Transition program, followed by interviews with local artists about the precarity of arts work, an issue highlighted by the Precarious Festival which is wrapping up this weekend. Lastly, listeners get a sneak peek of the debut issue of The River Magazine, a new publication by people who share the experience of living on low incomes in Peterborough.

Three stories: a new project by The Warming Room, called HOME, provides supportive housing for people experiencing chronic homelessness in Peterborough (1:00), a church service in Lindsay remembers the women who served in World War One (6:30), a profile of local musician Olias (11:50).

Our second episode has four stories. First, we ask attendees of The Spill’s final concert to share what the iconic venue has meant to them. Secondly, we explore the potential of daylighting Jackson Creek in Peterborough’s downtown.

A new contributor provides our third story; Josh Skinner, co-editor of Arthur, has produced an audio essay about the chill vibe on campus during Trent University’s autumn reading week. Finally, a documentary by Will Pearson introduces listeners to Rock Camp For Girls. Enjoy!

In our first episode, Will Pearson reports on the use of social media by Peterborough City Councillors — in particular their judicious or perhaps injudicious use of the block button; and two documentaries by Ayesha Barmania, one about the events from Confederation Square on September 30, when a rally planned by a known white supremacist was entirely drawfed by the counter-rallies; and a documentary about a community music festival: the inaugural Sad Fest.
