Jesus, the Light to the Nations

From Isaiah 49 and Mark 7, the preacher shows how God’s plan was always to bring salvation beyond Israel, fulfilled in Jesus as “a light to the nations.” He highlights the Syrophoenician woman’s persistent, humble, and trusting faith and challenges the church to pursue great faith, focus on unreached people locally and globally, and identify “one” person to love and share the gospel with.

Delighting in Christ, God’s Gentle Servant

Continuing the series “The Life of Christ Through Isaiah,” Pastor CJ unpacks Isaiah 61 and Jesus’ reading of it in Luke 4, showing how Israel’s long-awaited Messiah came first to address humanity’s sin and spiritual captivity—not merely political oppression. He highlights why Jesus stopped mid-verse at “the year of the Lord’s favor,” pointing to a present season of mercy before a coming day of judgment. Listeners are called to surrender to Jesus as Lord and live as a “royal priesthood,” carrying God’s presence into broken places to proclaim Christ’s mercy and rebuild what sin has ruined.

Pastor John launches a new series, “The Life of Christ Through Isaiah,” beginning with Isaiah’s throne-room vision in Isaiah 6. He shows from John 12 that Isaiah was beholding the preincarnate glory of Christ—holy, high, and lifted up—leading Isaiah to confession, cleansing, and a readiness to be sent. The message calls believers to a renewed awe of Jesus’ holiness, honest repentance, and Spirit-empowered service with the gospel.
