The anti-imperialist movement of the latter half of the 20th century failed as a socialist project, the impulses of nationalism seeming to have little power to defeat international capital and neo-colonialism once these systems gained any subtlety. In the 21st century even the pretense of the anti-imperialist movement being socialist is dropped, and instead socialists tail peripheral and semi peripheral bourgois countries that happen to be on the wrong side of the Evil Empire.
