In Exodus 32, God's people cheat on Him in a metaphorical wedding ceremony at the foot of Sinai. Our "idol" concerns have the same effect.

Between Exodus 13 & 16, God's people go from wanderers to warriors. Likewise, via Jesus our High priest, we endure and overcome

The Mosaic Exodus is an escape for us through Jesus too

God asks Moses to do hard things. When we want to avoid difficulty, we've got to recall that hard is not equal to bad, but that God reorients challenges to glorious purposes.

The only credential Moses had to lead God's people was God's presence. Whatever steps you take, be sure to take the Lord with you.
