    Episode 002 | Phallacies Podcast

Does the Alpha/Beta frameworks help or hurt men?

Traditional voices argue that embracing hierarchies and ranking helps motivate men to get better and gives them a rubric of what to do or what not to do. Progressive voices argue the opposite - that most of life is collaborative, not competitive, so approaching life in that way manufactures unnecessary shame for those who aren't at the top of a few arbitrary metrics. Both can't be right. We steel-man each position, then subject them to questioning to see which arguments actually hold up.

    Episode 001 | Phallacies Podcast

Does defining "what is a man" help or hurt men?

Traditional voices argue clear definitions are essential - without them, language breaks down and we can't organize society or address men's issues.

Progressive voices argue the opposite - that obsessing over who counts as a "real man" creates more problems than it solves.

Both can't be right. We steel-man each position, then subject them to a basic line of questioning in 'The Ring'.
