Pharmacies Implicated in the Opioid Crisis, Plus Activists Push to Ban...

Since at least 2014 fake prescriptions have lead to millions of pills ending up on the back market. All the while, the pharmacies and the drug companies are making money off each pill. Last week CVS, Walgreens & Walmart were found guilty of substantially contributing to the opioid crisis in two Ohio counties. For the first hour of the show we have Gerald Posner, author of the book Pharma: Greed, Lies, and the Poisoning of America, to reflect on the ruling
Then activist Kathy Kelly joins us to talk about anti-military-drone efforts. In August, at the end of the US withdrawal from Afganistan, military officials ordered a drone strike that killed 10 people including children who were all of whom were civilians. Kathy is a part of the Ban Killer Drones network. The group is staging “Don’t Look Away” demonstrations across the country at the air force bases to push of a complete ban. Veterans for Peace Madison have an event a Volk Field at 3:30 Monday, November 29th.
