I had a great time at ASHP Midyear 2025 Clinical Meeting & Exhibition! From world-class education to incredible networking, this conference poured into me both professionally and personally. Here are 5 things I learned and gained:
1. Networking
I reconnected with so many familiar faces, friends, classmates, preceptors, and colleagues, and met countless new ones along the way. From the Residency Showcase to the Student & Resident Poster Presentations, every conversation taught me something new. The connections you build here truly shape your future in pharmacy.
2. Plan With Purpose
As students, we live by our calendars, and conferences are no exception. Midyear is packed from morning to night with CE sessions, presentations, receptions, interviews, and more. The ASHP Live App kept me organized and ensured I didn’t miss a single opportunity.
3. Lead With Authenticity
In a space filled with thousands of brilliant people, it’s easy to feel like you need to do more to be seen, but being yourself is your superpower. Professionalism matters, but authenticity leaves a lasting impression. You want to match with programs and people who align with the real you.
4. Budget Wisely
National conferences can be expensive, whether sponsored or self-funded. Plan to bring spending money, you’ll want to try new food spots, grab coffee between sessions, and enjoy time with friends. Being financially prepared makes the experience smoother and more enjoyable.
5. Have Fun
Midyear is a professional conference, but it’s also an unforgettable experience. Explore the city, enjoy the energy, and create memories with new friends and future colleagues. One interaction can genuinely change the trajectory of your life and career.
