The concept of Surrender is… a lot for people.

And.. the concept of surrender is vulnerable.We get to mature greatly if this road is ours to walk.

And fully open ourselves so that we can be available for the Divine and/or our higher self, which doesn’t feed our ego desires sometimes!

And that’s really kind of a meh for me in life.I’m like, meh.”Why don’t you give me what I want?This tastes good. That looks that way. I want this.”

But.. I’m on a shamanic path.I don’t get what I want.

My particular guides—whether they be imagined fantasies in my own brain or real— they have been with me vividly for the last 15 years.

They depict themselves to me as no nonsense. Silent + Sure. They are these really deep spiritual initiators, crafting me to be a medicine woman who isn’t swayed by flattery, knows how to discern b******t, knows how to protect her own energy.. and still maintain innocence.

These are my soul lessons.They’ve been challenging.And they haven’t really ‘given’ me a lot.

I didn’t win any prizes in the ways of the world.. but I did get some grit + integrity.

You don’t get ‘infinite riches’ and all that spiritual commerce hype that Tony Robbins sells.Instead, the path I walk can be at times quite humbling. Exquisitely beautiful. But also ego erradicating.

Do you remember what he said? The Genie has infinite wisdom.

Phenomenal cosmic powers… itty bitty living space.

I joke.. but The Genie is of service.

The genie is not about the self, but rather about the other.And his whole story is to break his shackles.Now, obviously I don’t have shackles, but sometimes… it feels like I kinda do.

What is it to be on a path of Service?

I feel like some of us incarnate into lifetimes where our soul work or mission may not be fully about our own ego desires…

That we are here as initators. Or mirrors that trigger others. Or frequency keepers. That we have a role in relationship to the Cosmic. And not so much self serving. But a destiny to be Of Service.

And I don’t feel like it’s just me. In fact, it’s often a core human need. To feel like we contribute to something greater than ourselves. I know a few really great people in my life who have ‘confessed’ to me that they don’t feel fulfilled.

Even after having the job, the kids, the house, the partnership. That without feeling like they have made some kind of a mark in this world through Service, they feel lost and without a purpose.

And conversly there are those of us who can’t quite fit into society no matter how hard we try.

We are in the role of ‘Guide’

We are the Guardian of the Threshold.

We are here to remind others of the infinite.

I’m on that path.And I know other people who feel that they’re on that path.Everyone that I have mentored and taught.

This path.. the Healer’s Journey is not an easy road.But those of us who have embarked on the path.. have made that commitment for more than just this life.

Over + over again we are Of Service..

It’s our soul codex, our construct.

We wouldn’t be happy any other way.We’ve incarnated into these roles in society—for better or worse.

We may have been persecuted, outcast, and all of the other things that come along with that archetype.

But also: Phenomenal Cosmic PowersAnd access to something.. infinite.
