Last week was Thanksgiving and November, in general, tends to be a month where we focus on giving thanks.

One of the things that I love to do is community service.  I constantly look for ways and opportunities to give back and to organize groups to serve the community.  I truly believe that engaging in service is critical to living a full and complete life.  Therefore, as my twins get older, I've been asking myself:

What can I do to start to plant the seeds of community service into the hearts of my children?

Well... I had been praying and asking God how I could help to show single moms that we aren’t in this by ourselves. During one of my prayers, the Lord told me to interview RJ Rendon, one of the moms in the Phenomenal Moms Facebook Group. 

Matter of fact, one day in the Facebook Group RJ gave me an amazing word of inspiration that helped to motivate and encourage me when I confessed to the ladies in the group that I had been crying. At the time, I felt so alone not because I was alone but because I didn’t think anyone understood what I was going through. 

The thing is, sometimes we need to just tell someone how we feel to allow someone else to pour back into us just as we pour out every day into our children and others. Therefore, I decided to invite RJ on the podcast so she can share what she has learned during her single motherhood journey and how she has overcome obstacles and setbacks.
