1 Samuel chapter 29 tells of David marching out to battle against his fellow Israelites alongside the Philistines and how he was sent back home when other Philistine leaders recognized him. We are supposed to see in the story how God rescued David from an impossible situation from being on the wrong side of the battle lines. God can use others' rejections to steer believers back to God's path.
