Kev and Dan set up the Phish studio album (close to Kev's heart) "Hoist", before...
Kev and Dan were all set to start the new year with a podcast about the GameHoist show. They were going to do a two part episode where the first part set up Trey's senior thesis "The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday" (aka the Gamehendge tape) and also about Hoist as an album. Then, something interesting happened in the 12/31/23 Phish show and all our plans went (AMAZINGLY I MIGHT ADD) right out the window. So here is us on December 23rd, 2023 SPECIFICALLY TALKING ABOUT THE 1987 TAPE made by Trey (more non-specific hyperbole to follow in Pt. 2, don't worry)
Happy New Years to any listeners who are still with us!!

Kev and Dan are back to break down the earliest show we've done yet; It's Phish in 1989! Coming on the heels of an historic show at the Paradise in Boston, this show finds the band early in their transition from a Burlington bar band to the monster touring act we know and love. Highlights include a memorable version of "You Enjoy Myself", "Sanity" played in the rare fast arrangement, great covers of "La Grange" "On Your Way Down" and "Whipping Post", and a manic "David Bowie". Mostly though, they're here to talk about brass tacks, Werner Herzog and the complete history of the slot machine.Pheel Phree to email [email protected]
Kev and Dan are back to break down Phish show from Charlotte in 2010! Highlights include "Vultures" (which Kev is always excited for), solid renditions of "The Lizards" and "You Enjoy Myself", and a surprise performance of "Mexican Cousin". The main highlight however is the biggest bust-out in Phish history; a performance of the fan-favorite and obscenity-laced Phish classic "Fuck Your Face", which hadn't been heard live since 1987! Mostly though, they're here to perfect their New Zealand accents and give tips on how to win the balloon dart game at the fair.

Kev and Dan are back to break down the 1994 Cincinnati show in which the fire alarm went off! Taking place only one day before the show recorded for LivePhish vol. 10, highlights of this memorable evening include Trey trying to convince Phish phans not to smoke (good luck), stellar renditions of "My Friend, My Friend" and Jimi Hendrix's "Fire" (get it?), and an all-time (and atypical) "Split Open and Melt". Mostly though, we're here to debate the relative merits of Chicken Limbo and Gator Golf.
Our March episode will cover the 07.02.2010 show

Happy New Year Phive Phinnigans! Kev and Dan are back to break down Phish's first night in Chicago on the 2018 Fall Tour! Highlights include a great "Reba", exploratory versions of "Mercury" and "Golden Age", and a stellar "Tweezer". Mostly though, they're here to discuss what diners don't need, those big bags of candy you get at the mall, and which Harry Potter character would be the best to rage a show with. Plus, a discussion on America's hottest topic...is Phish now just too good?

Kev and Dan are back to break down the show from Boulder Theater in Boulder, Colorado from 1991! Highlights include a show opening "Fluffhead", stellar versions of "Divided Sky", "Esther" and "You Enjoy Myself", and an all-time "Reba". Mostly though, they debate the merits of the Phin system , The Muppets, and the potentially pernicious motives of Fun Dip.

Kev and Dan are back to break down the second show from St. Louis from 2019, a night where Phish just happened to be in the St. Louis Blues home arena as they were winning the Stanley Cup! Highlights of this memorable evening include an all time version of Loving Cup (get it?), spectacular versions of "Mr. Completely" and "Twist", and a performance of the Blues' victory song; Laura Branigan's "Gloria". Mostly though, Dan is here to drop an incredibly hot Phish take! You'll want to be seated for this one.
(Programming note: we apologize for the long wait between episodes. Beginning in December, Phive Phins will be released on the first day of each month)

Kev and Dan are back to break down the first night at Deer Creek from 1999. Highlights include a rare live performance of "My Left Toe" leading into a bustout of "Whipping Post", great versions of "Birds of A Feather" and "Run Like an Antelope", and a wacky and memorable "Makisupa Policeman". Really though, they're here to discover which one is on the motorcycle and which one is in the sidecar.
