A wild monsoon slammed into Metro Phoenix on September 16, dousing east Mesa with nearly four inches of rain in minutes—causing catastrophic flooding, shuttering Mesa Community College’s Red Mountain campus, and turning streets into rivers. Police directed traffic through submerged intersections, while one parking lot at Higley and Brown saw cars nearly swallowed—though one driver walked away unscathed. Officials scramble to assess damage as the storm serves as a brutal wake-up call: monsoon season isn’t just rain—it’s raw, rapid, and ready to disrupt everything in its path.

Beaches aren’t just for sunbathing—some coastlines hide venomous snakes, from rattlesnakes swimming in the Gulf to sea snakes washing ashore in Southern California. Eastern diamondbacks are spotted near Pensacola Beach, Georgia, and South Carolina barrier islands, while Texas sees western diamondbacks and cottonmouths. Even during El Niño, yellow-bellied sea snakes appear off California shores. Stay alert—these snakes usually avoid humans, but knowing where they lurk keeps you safe.

The Pentagon just released its sixth batch of declassified UAP files, dropping jaw-dropping footage, audio, and firsthand accounts that keep the mystery alive. From a 1952 Navy officer’s eerie sky shots near Utah—where birds and balloons couldn’t explain the glowing, fast-moving objects—to 2023-2025 military videos capturing silent, colorful lights and agile spherical craft zipping across oceans and deserts, these documents fuel both intrigue and debate. With each release, the government pushes transparency, but the truth? Still out there, shimmering in the unknown.

Grand Avenue Chase Ends in Critical Injury | Phoenix News

A judge has ordered the Trump administration to give 30 days’ notice before moving forward with plans to demolish the Kennedy Center, after new evidence—including a photo of Trump on Air Force One staring at a “Kennedy Center Demolished” poster—surfaced in court. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, fighting to keep the center open and his name off the building, argues that a recent seven-day closure was a legal maneuver to skirt a prior court order limiting shutdowns. While the center’s board insists the emergency closure is unrelated to renovation plans and doesn’t violate existing rulings, the administration is expected to seek to overturn those orders, reigniting a high-stakes legal battle over one of America’s most iconic cultural landmarks.

A brand-new wild cat has been officially discovered in Bolivia’s cloud forests—Leopardus tilcayo, or the Tilcayo—and it’s the first new feline species identified in over 100 years. Genetic testing revealed it’s one of five distinct tiger cat lineages across South America, with this elusive, small-bodied cat sporting light brown fur and irregular rosettes. Only two individuals are known to exist—one at a Bolivian refuge—making it critically vulnerable as its Yungas habitat faces destruction from deforestation, fires, and mining. Conservationists now urgently need to act before this rare cat disappears forever.

Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar is sending a bold message to President Trump in a new campaign ad, warning that his immigration policies have gone too far — especially for Hispanic voters in her South Florida district. Once a staunch Republican stronghold, this area with deep Cuban and Venezuelan roots is now showing signs of political realignment as enforcement actions stir unease among key constituents. With Democrats eyeing the district as a potential flip target, Salazar’s move signals a growing rift within the GOP over immigration — even as deportations remain high and public sentiment shifts.
