October 25, 2019Catch Up with Conor - World's Greatest MealThe "World's Greatest Meal" to end Polio is being held this week by Rotary clubs around the world - including The Greater Springfield Rotary Club. The idea is to have a meal of some kind - anything from roast dinner or a BBQ to pizza or just a plate of chips - then you donate a certain amount of money that will be handed over to International Rotary. The funds raised are being matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation at $2 for every $1 raised.. so, if the Rotary Club of Greater Springfield can raise $100, the Gates Foundation will add a further $200 making $300 in total. To date, the "World's Greatest Meal" has raised a total of $7 million. The main driving force behind this magnificent effort is our own, proud Queenslander, Susanne Rea. Susanne herself is a Polio Survivor. She likes to show how the "grassroots" Rotarian can make a positive effort towards ending Polio even by simply having a meal with friends and colleagues. Susanne Rea is speaking here with Phoenix Radio's Conor Chissell....more11minPlay
