Phoole and the Gang

Tunes and tales with Phoole in the Phooleout Shelter underneath Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, with cameos from both studio cats, Tony and Angelo, and even the elusive T stops by for a visit! New tuner-inners join the Gang, and one of them has a name that inspires Phoole to relate the tale of “Would you like my skin?” Cindy Mangan is TOO GENEROUS, Angelo exceeds safe cuteness levels, and Myths & Monsters give useful chiptune safety briefings. Phoole shows off the bowl, fashioned from the wood of Tom Fool’s Tree, that she won ten years ago at Muncaster Castle, which is amongst her most prized possessions.

It’s Phoole & the Gang’s 180th show! That made Phoole think of 180 degrees...and lines...and shapes...and geometry! So every tune in the show has something to do with geometry, no matter how oblique. Or obtuse!

Phoole starts with a tune called ‘Connection Lost’...and subsequently the connection is lost and she has to restart the show. Someday she’ll learn to start the show with a tune called ‘Billionaire Backers Acquired,’ and then we’ll all have a LOT more fun. Phoole has no idea how to pronounce Gary Tuohy’s surname, but she hopes it’s like the Chicago avenue “Touhy” which she likes to mispronounce as “Two-Hwaiii.” Phoole has a crush on Du Tonc’s sound and Pheel Balliana’s voice. Allen Walker appears in the chat room at TheChewb.com - he’s doing better! This is great news! Phoole extracts good news from Phooligans throughout the Phooliverse. Phoole got a purple monkey (a soft toy monkey!) named Grapes whose birthday JUST HAPPENS to be April 1st! AND Phoole has a mini-Muppet of one of the yip-yip aliens from Sesame Street. MBTC joins in the fun for a while too! Everyone’s having a splendid time - but then Phoole learns John Hurt has left the planet during the evening, so some Art of Noise/Claude Debussy/John Hurt has to be played in commemoration, and Phoole is not a little rattled at having just that same day based the show’s promo graphics on stills from the version of 1984 that starred John Hurt. Phoole ends the show with Epistrophe Smith because that is apparently how she always ends her show now!

It’s Friday the 13th - DO YOU FEEL LUCKY? Phoole tempts fate - and sure enough, at about 40 minutes in, the broadcaster crashes - but Phoole & the Gang must go on! The kitties pay the Phooleout Shelter a visit, and Tony the Cat is adorable but smells dreadful. HDLips wins the night once again in indestructibility. It is suggested that Phoole decorate the Phooleout Shelter by having Phooligans strip down, stand against the walls, and get splattered with dayglow paint, so that it looks like a rainbow nuclear blast occurred. Phoole isn’t 100% sold on the idea. Urban Love Ulcer attempts to consume US snacks. Phoole refuses to choose just one of her arts - she wants to do ALL THE THINGS!
