Phos Church Messages episodes

  • 4. Relax
Faith in Jesus IS the work of God! In a culture that is overwhelmed by the storms of life, we are to be peaceful trusters in the work of Jesus in us, for us and through us. Jesus offers us a means of relaxing - trusting in Him - that is deeper and more restorative than vacationing.

  • 3. The Deep End
For the past few weeks, we have been looking at the issue of faith. That, not only do we need faith to please God, but truthfully we need faith just to live! One of my most favorite sources of inspiration/Jesus object lesson/visuals is Star Wars. In “The Empire Strikes Back”, Master Yoda is training Luke Skywalker in the ways of the Jedi. Yoda purposefully sends Luke into a “dark-side cave”, not to harm Luke, but for Luke to confront his own fears and doubts. In much the same way, Jesus sends us into “The Deep End” where we are forced to confront our sin and doubt so that our faith may be tested and approved and where we can seek the hurting and broken.

  • 2. Holy Chutzpah!
There is an interesting synergy between your design, your temperament & personality and aptitudes and your drive toward accomplishing some things that get ignited in a fusion with the Holy Spirit to do great things in and for and through God. Pay attention to those inner drives toward doing great things for God. This may be your calling nudging you.
