Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #17 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. Today begins a new series about Inflammation and The Autoimmune Response. 

Immune systems – we’re born with them, but what exactly are they?

The immune system is a complex network of cells and proteins that defends the body against infection. It keeps a record of every germ it’s ever defeated so it can recognize and destroy the microbe quickly if it ever enters the body again.

You might be wondering what you can do to strengthen your immune system, with all the COVID talk right now. There are things you can do, and we’ll discuss them in today’s show. 

Dr. Kell will be interviewing Ted Hahn, who is a clinical nutritionist who began bodybuilding and powerlifting competitively during his teen years. He was amazed at how quickly the body responded to good food and good exercise. As he matured, he got into nutrition and has been working in the field for the past 30 years. 

He worked in Pharmaceuticals for 10-12 years but found his passion and love in clinical nutrition and helping doctors and their practices understand how to implement nutrition to improve the health of their patients on a long-term basis. 

As a Clinical Nutritionist, his favorite, simple rule is “If it didn’t have fins, feathers, fur, or grow out of the Earth, don’t eat it.”
